Player and Parent Guidelines
Tuesday, April 01 2008
Player
- All practices, training sessions, and tournaments are mandatory
- Players are expected to be 15 minutes early to each practice
- Players are expected to wear only Hangten apparel to practice, tournaments, and any special training session
- Players are expected to be respectful, courteous, and dignified when addressing coaches, officials, teammates, the opponents, the opposing team coaches, spectators, family, and friends. HangTen players are expected to always take the high road and nothing less will be acceptable.
- Players are expected to help maintain clean playing areas.
- Players are not allowed to drive each other to tournaments. They can and are encouraged to carpool with other players parents.
- HangTen expects players to budget their time so they are able to balance their school schedules and volleyball. Volleyball is expected to be a priority since your schedule and practice times are clearly posted both on the HangTen site and given to you in your HangTen signing packet.
- HangTen players are encouraged to mentor players younger than themselves as it promotes and creates the family atmosphere we wish to provide for all players.
- HangTen players are expected to report any and all injuries to the coach.
- Players are expected to get the appropriate amount of sleep (8 hours) for at least 2 nights prior to a tournament.
- Athletes are expected to eat balanced meals so their muscles develop and repair appropriately.
- Hydration is critical during any competition and athletes are expected to maintain at least a moderate fluid intake for optimum performance.
- When a player commits to a team, their commitment is considered to be year long. Players that leave the club for any reason understand that they are still completely responsible for the remaining seasons fees with no refund. HangTen will not punish the players and parents that honor their commitment by raising their fees when a player leaves the team. For this reason players are held responsible for a full seasons commitment both athletically and financially.

Parent
- Parents are expected to be respectful, courteous, and dignified when addressing coaches, officials, the opposing team coaches, spectators, family, and friends. HangTen parents are asked to always take the high road and set the example.
- Parents are asked to be their kids biggest fan. We ask you to encourage them at all times and be a sounding board for them when things havent gone well.
- Parents are not to address concerns with their coaches after a game. They are expected to wait 48 hours to address concerns with a coach. If 48 hours is not possible then the parent is asked to communicate their concerns to Evan Pasion (Club Arbiter) and he will help resolve the matter. By signing below you agree to this process. Circumventing this process will result in the admin and board of the club reviewing the families membership within the club. This could result in release of the player from the club but not from their financial responsibilities. The family will be held responsible for the entire seasons fees.
- We encourage and love parent participation. Please be as active as possible within your team and club. Plan team get togethers, movie nights, retreats, picnics, and anything that helps promote team untiy.
